Wilson won’t be activated today

There will be NO roster move involving Brian Wilson today, either before or after the game, Mattingly just told reporters. However, he strongly hinted that the move could come tomorrow.

“It’s still a fluid situation,” Mattingly said. “By the end of the day, we should have a better indication of what we’re going to do. But Brian has been feeling good.”

Read into that comment what you will. I asked, and Donnie said there won’t be a move postgame. Dodgers tend to wait until the last possible moment to do these things. In this case, that would be about 6 pm Miami time tomorrow night — assuming they’re going to make the move tomorrow.

Meanwhile, former New York Mets general manager Jim Duquette (@Jim_Duquette), now a baseball analyst for MLB Network Radio, tweeted that Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti “just told us Brian Wilson will be activated in the next day or two.” I texted Colletti to confirm that he did, in fact, tell MLBNR this, and he sent a one-word response, “Could.”

So this is coming. Soon.

  1. Why all the cloak and dagger about this Wilson move? It seems like the organisation is being secretive for secretive’s sake here.

  2. When Wilson is activated who goes down or sent to the DL?

  3. They should send cappy out not withrow he has pitched great in his role

  4. Marmot should be released.

  5. Will somebody please hand that guy a razor?!!
