Brian Wilson, who officially returned from Tommy John surgery only yesterday when he pitched a scoreless ninth inning to finish off the Dodgers’ 6-0 victory at Miami, apparently has no intention of shaving off his famous beard even if some razor company is willing to pay him to do it.
That is what the agency that represents the somewhat unusual veteran pitcher and former All-Star closer has told TMZ. The report also says Wilson told the agency that the beard is “going with him to the grave.” Hopefully not anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers PR staff has scheduled Wilson for a formal media session today, which is highly unusual, and they haven’t told us what it’s about. Could be beard-related, I suppose.
A million dollars. Just to shave his beard. And he isn’t going to do it.
All righty then.
