The home-whites/road-grays combo lasted just one night, as the Mets have now gone to their blue jerseys with the orange piping. That’s actually Dodger blue, in case you didn’t know. The reason the Mets chose orange and blue for their colors when they were born in 1962 was that they were the first National League team in New York since the Dodgers and Giants left four years earlier, so it’s Dodger blue and Giant orange.
